Teacher's Notes
Nora Gubins, a member of the Tea Association of Canada, and the American Tea Masters Association , is one of Canada’s first certified tea sommeliers. She is a founding member of the Tea Guild of Canada, and food blog Gremolata’s Tea Expert, and member of the Culinary Historians of Ontario.
Nora is a lecturer and writer on tea, its history, culture and equipage and offers tutored tastings on a variety of teas. Through her company, TeaQueen, she (and her associates ) offers tea talks, tastings, product consultations and access to specialty tea markets. Fueled by world travels, cultural studies and the pursuit of a decent cup of tea, Nora enjoys sharing tea tales and facts, and delicious unique and rare teas.
She is one of the first graduates from the George Brown College Tea Sommelier Certificate and a graduate of their advanced tea sommelier programme. This 140 hour programme is the only one offered by a culinary school and is certified by the Tea Association of Canada. She has undertaken further training at the World Tea Expo seminar series.
With a network of associates, Nora offers tea education, tastings and a fun way to explore the world of tea. The TeaQueen team welcomes hearing from you.
