Create a Meditation Garden

Learn how to cultivate sensory experiences and nature to create a garden space for the enhancement of meditative pursuits and energetic rejuvenation by utilizing site selection, natural features and nature’s gems, common garden materials, and creative design.

We’ll provide a location and wide spectrum of reworked structural materials, tools, meditation items, cultivation techniques, and design expertice.

Bring a potluck, your own work gloves and favorite tools, camera, and whatever of your own meditation rugs, mats, drapes, effigies, chimes and tintinnabula, symbols and simulacra, and gustatory, olfactory, and tactile morsels besides the potluck that you would like to experiment with.

You may register for this class by calling Dera Williams at 510-436-2413, up to 10 days before the June 12th start date, by making out your $65 check or money order (no credit or debit cards) to “Merritt College” and mailing it to:

Teacher's Notes

Ken Litchfield is a professional naturalist, biological illustrator, and instructor of Mushroom Cultivation, Beneficial Beasts in the Garden, and Growing and Using Healthful Herbs in the Landscape Horticulture Department of Merritt Community College. He utilizes the plant animal, fungal, mineral, and celestial kingdoms for physical, mental, and spiritual health.

David Gardella works in many different art mediums which may include visual, ecological, and physical elements. He is a youth and adult art specialist in San Francisco, an assistant teacher in the Landscape Horticulture Department of Merritt Community College, and certified in Permaculture Design. David is a student of Anusara Yoga and practices Neelakantha Meditation under Paul Muller-Ortega.
