Discussion (16)
Hi!
I’m also self-taught in e-marketing and have been looking for a group of professionals to bounce around ideas and talk shop with. I’m in the city and have a pretty flexible schedule so if you want to meet up I’d love to join!
Hi John-
That sounds very interesting. I work in Online Advertising, specifically Sports Media and I do quite a bit of marketing but have never had formal “Marketing” training. I would also love to start my own company some day around a passion so that I truly love what I work so hard for. I’d love to get your perspective! I live in SF and evenings work the best for me.
Nights or weekends are best for me. I like in person meetings as discussions are more candid.
weekends would work for me, but I was more hoping for online thing if all possible.
Hi folks,
I just heard about unclasses and was puttering around when I came across this class. I am a small business coach / consultant focused on teaching marketing skills to entrepreneurs. I combine live marketing tools with online social presence tools, they reinforce each other well. I’d love to lead a group, starting with a brief presentation that can open into group discussion. I’d imagine we’ll all learn something. I’m available most Tuesday nights and I’m happy to meet anywhere in SF. I can also host if that’s desired.
Did this class ever happen? I’d love to participate if it’s still in the works.
Hey guys, sorry I’ve fallen off the map a bit, things have been a little busy but I’m still interested in teaching. Can we plan to meet down here in Mountain View? What does everyone’s schedule look like for later this week or early next? I am also open to this weekend Sat or Sun.
Marketing 201 would be great to learn about marketing tricks, tactics, and mediums to explore. Also, learning methods of tracking and compiling information would be great.
Areas of interest are examining recent advertising successes, analyzing viral opportunities, ideas about building communities around a product, etc. A group discussion with a leader might be fun – an experienced teacher would add a lot though!my bad, doodle is probably overkill for 3 people…
I think Andrew is on the road this week, so Wed is probably shot. We’re both up in the city — do you ever end up here? weekends?
Hey guys, we can revise this or push it out, just wanted to put together a plan http://www.doodle.com/3u4f84b9qxqxgk82 Wednesday > 6pm
Where were we meeting? I live in Mountain View and don’t really like driving, or the City… I have some room at my house or we could do a library and get a study room.
Heh :) we try to keep things casual here. Definitely a lot of entrepreneurial folks in the community and glad to share war stories.
I’ve been trying Doodle to help find mutual times that work for everyone. Cort, since you’re the teacher, do you want to list what works for you and we can go from there?

Nice, thanks for the explanation Rahmin. I’m pretty flexible and just looking to help out, meet some new friends, and share what I’ve learned! I’m a semi-pro entrepreneur looking to take it to the next level and this kind of meetup teaching/learning space really seems like a neat idea. ps. I love the “rock on!” in your emails :)
Hey Cort,
Welcome to unclasses man – appreciate you jumping right in and offering to lead this class. Unclasses are like meetups for learning — don’t worry about necessarily being an expert (though it sounds like you know what you’re doing), teachers are often facilitators and learn as much as the students out of the experience.
In the end, it’s more about meeting people around shared interests and having a good time.
In terms of this class, it’d be cool to get together and compare notes. I’ve never done any SEM before and wonder how you approach it. At the same time, you’ll notice that unclasses hasn’t been setup for much SEO at all.
Andrew, could you share a bit more about what you were hoping to get out of this class? I’m assuming it’s tied to your goals with 30words…?
Hey there, I’ve been doing search engine marketing, social media, and a lot of other web related marketing for several years and would be happy to share. I am Google Adwords certified and have won two awards from the American Marketing Association in Colorado for business plans. I’ve never done this unclass thing, can you explain a bit more?? Thanks!
